Here at our skin clinic in Manchester, we’ve served patients in the area and further afield across Cheshire for many years. These patients usually come to us with skin concerns that are related to ageing. We know that these concerns can impact your confidence, so we’re committed to delivering effective treatments to restore your confidence and boost your skin health! Many of our treatments target crow’s feet - a common sign of ageing. Here’s some more information about this condition.
What are crow’s feet?
This is the term given to the fine lines that can appear in the corners of your eyes, which some say look like crow’s feet. Because the eye area is so delicate, it can be more prone to signs of ageing. Crow’s feet occur as a result of a loss of elastin and collagen, as well as facial movement. Regarding the latter, when we make a facial expression, tiny muscle contractions occur. As a result, fine lines can develop over time.
These lines may be dynamic or static - dynamic lines will appear when you make a facial expression, whereas static lines are permanent wrinkles that are visible all of the time. Other causes of crow’s feet also include hormonal changes and external factors, like environmental damage. This tends to be sun damage, due to a history of sun exposure and free radicals.
How to treat crow’s feet
Treatments for crow’s feet can vary, but we provide a range of options that are designed to target the appearance of crow’s feet. Here are some of the options:
- Skin peels - This form of skincare treatment can be tailored to meet whatever your skin needs and goals are. At Revolution Aesthetics, we offer two signature peels - the ZO Essential Stimulator Peel and the ZO 3-Step Peel, both of which can target wrinkles, including crow’s feet.
- Microneedling - This treatment is great for skin renewal and helps the skin to naturally repair itself. This works by stimulating epidermal growth factors, as well as elastin and collagen production. This helps patients to achieve smooth and youthful-looking skin.
- Botox - Injectable fillers are a popular option for mitigating the effects of wrinkle formation. These botulinum toxin injections, or dermal fillers, work by blocking nerve impulses to your small facial muscles. This reduces the appearance of expression lines.
- Skincare at home - Many decide to integrate treatment for crow’s feet into their skincare routine at home with the likes of skin serums and firming eye cream. When selecting the right products, you should look out for vital ingredients such as essential vitamins, glycolic acid and hyaluronic acid that will help to improve skin elasticity and collagen production. We offer a range of ZO products with vitamin A/retinol to tackle wrinkle formation.
