The top questions our clients have about lip fillers

11th December, 2018

Lip Fillers

Lip fillers have become an increasingly popular cosmetic procedure in the last few years to help individuals to achieve a plumper pout and increase their confidence! That being said, it can be quite daunting when you don’t know exactly what you’re getting yourself into and have a lot of questions. To help put your mind at ease, detailed below are a number of frequently asked questions that clients want to know before getting lip fillers.

The most common question clients tend to ask is ‘Does it hurt?’ With trained clinicians that are highly skilled in administering low pain injections any pain felt should be kept to a minimum. Alongside numbing cream, a vibro pen will be used to ensure the procedure is carried out quickly, efficiently and with as little discomfort as possible.

The second most common question is ‘How long will it last? Is it permanent?’ The answer to this is no, this is not a permanent treatment, so you needn’t worry if you later decide its not for you. Typically, the filler will last six to nine months depending on the patient.

‘How long does the treatment take?’ The treatment can take approximately 30 minutes, but this can vary depending on the patient.

‘How much does each treatment cost?’ The lip filler treatments start from £199 but can vary depending on the results you are looking to achieve. This will need to be discussed with one of our fully qualified clinicians during an initial consultation.

‘How is REVOLUTIONAESTHETICS lip filler treatments different from other lip filler procedures?’ At REVOLUTIONAESTHETICS we utilise a creatively designed technique that follows our revolutionary ratio technique which all of our clinicians are trained in.

‘Can I come in for a chat about potentially having a treatment?’ Everyone is welcome at REVOLUTIONAESTHETICS to come in and speak to us about any questions or worries you may have about a potential treatment. We offer free intial consultations for every treatment and if it is your first time, we are happy to talk you through the whole procedure and discuss what you are looking to achieve.

What causes wrinkles, and what can be done about them?

4th December, 2018

Anyone over 30 will tell you that wrinkles are an unfortunate and unavoidable part of ageing and whilst some happily embrace them, many people choose to seek out ways of preventing them and reduce their appearance. This leads to the question of what exactly causes wrinkles?

What causes wrinkles?

There are many factors that culminate to cause our skin to wrinkle but ultimately the first is age. Our skin is composed of layers of epidermis and dermis which work together to produce collagen. Collagen combined with elastic fibres in the skin keep it looking tight and firm but as you age the levels of collagen begin to drop which in turn causes the skin to sag and wrinkle.

There are however other factors that have an impact on our skin such as genetics - put simply, if your parents suffered from premature ageing signs then you are also likely to. Skin tone can also have an effect as the more melanin you have in your skin, the less likely you are to develop wrinkles at an early age.

Whilst genetics and the passage of time are factors out of our control, there are external factors that you can seek to avoid. The first is exposure to the sun; whilst the sun is great for improving your mental state too much of it can damage your skin in more than one way. In terms of wrinkles, UV light attacks collagen levels making it difficult for your skin to avoid wrinkling. Another notable cause of wrinkles is smoking; not only is smoking bad for your health but the lack of oxygen to your skin can quickly cause premature ageing.

What can you do to avoid wrinkles?

Focusing on your health is the best way to prevent ageing for as long as possible. Maintaining a healthy diet, drinking enough water, being mindful of how long you are out in the sun for and quitting bad habits such as smoking will all keep you looking young!

5 ways to take care of your skin this winter

26 November, 2018

winter skin

Winter is great for wrapping up in blankets, putting the fire on and indulging in a bit too much chocolate but unfortunately, it’s not the best time for your skin. When the temperature begins to drop the air becomes very dry which quickly dehydrates your skin day by day. It doesn’t take long before your skin become sore, irritable and cracked which is why it is important to keep your skin fresh and healthy this winter using the following tips!

Always Moisturise

It is essential for you to have a good moisturiser- usually oil based are more effective than water based in the colder months! You should be looking to moisturise your skin straight after you have had a bath or shower to help lock in the moisture for the rest of the day.

Stay Hydrated

During the winter we are all guilty of not drinking enough water, instead turning to all the amazing hot and festive drinks, but it is important to remember that your skin needs hydration inside and outside. If you are struggling to remember to hydrate, try having hot water and lemon instead!

Protect your skin

As it gets colder you may want to start wearing gloves and scarves to protect as much of your skin as possible from the elements. It is also a good idea to apply sunscreen or use a moisturiser that has a combined sunscreen - winter sun can be just as damaging as in the summer!

Exfoliate

Exfoliating your skin is just as important in winter as it is in summer! If the dead skin cells build up too much any moisturiser you apply won’t be able to sink in enough to protect you. Finding a good exfoliator for both your face, lips and hands is key to ensuring your skin remains soft and smooth throughout the season.

Face Masks

If you are going to use face masks in the winter, you will want to ensure they are focused on hydration! If you wish you could even make your own face masks at home using natural ingredients such as honey, bananas, olive or almond oil, avocado or natural yoghurt. Mix your combos together to create your face mask of choice and leave it on for up to 30 minutes.

How to find a skin clinic you can trust

16 November, 2018

We’ve all seen those horror pictures of treatments gone wrong. Botched lip filler giving you the dreaded duck pout. Skin peel disasters leaving you with permanent marks, and dermal fillers in places they shouldn’t be. So how do you pick a skin clinic you can trust? Here are a couple of tips to steer you in the right direction to skin perfection!

Picking the Right Qualified Professional

This has to be the number one thing to look for. Are all the staff fully qualified in their field? What is their clinical background, and how much experience do they have?

It is so important for you to feel relaxed and confident with the person who is going to be doing your treatments. If you trust that person, the treatment will be painless and you’ll reach your shared end goal.

Also, do they have a free consultation service? If so, take full advantage of this. It’s perfect for you to meet them face-to-face. They are the experts, so they will be able to give advice and tailor the treatments especially for you.

Testimonials and Reviews

Today, as you know, you can find all the information you need on the internet. Pretty much every company has reviews and testimonials. Take your time looking online. Think of the time you spend reading reviews of hotels, restaurants or even that new pair of knickers! Look for genuine before and after photos and a price list, so there are no surprises.

Spend time finding out the information you need to pick the perfect skin care clinic for you.

Be the Best

Nobody wants to have work done only for it to look fake. Ideally, you need to find the right professional who will enhance your own features and help you achieve your best natural results.
