What Is Baby Botox?

25th April, 2022

baby botox

Botox is a popular cosmetic treatment offered in our Manchester-based clinic. This treatment is given via injection to relax the facial muscles and lessen the appearance of wrinkles. It works by blocking nerve signals to relax the muscles, making wrinkles soften. People generally get Botox to help with forehead lines, frown lines and crow’s feet. The shots last anywhere from three months to six months and will need to be repeated after this time period to maintain the desired skin appearance, although the lines generally get less severe over time as a result of the muscles shrinking.

So, What Exactly Is Baby Botox?

Baby Botox is a wrinkle reduction treatment where small amounts of Botox are injected into the facial muscles. These microdoses allow you to continue to have facial expressions and natural movement while softening deep lines on your skin surface.

The presence of Botox will be less noticeable with Baby Botox, giving more natural-looking results - this is one of the core reasons why it is becoming more common for younger patients who wish to maintain their natural appearance as much as possible. Another benefit of Baby Botox is that it is well-known for being able to target more precise areas and skin concerns than the more traditional Botox methods.

What Is the Difference Between Botox and Baby Botox?

The main difference between traditional Botox treatments and Baby Botox is the amount of Botox being used. Baby Botox is applied in microdoses into three areas of the face, whereas traditional Botox will require injections in different places, depending on the target areas.

Additionally, Baby Botox can be used in places where traditional Botox can’t - this is because it’s a much more precise process. Softer facial lines and forehead lines can be targeted using Baby Botox. Cheek augmentation can be achieved with an additional injection of dermal fillers. However, for deep wrinkles and deeper lines, traditional Botox is more likely to be effective.

The results of Baby Botox will last up to three months - instead of up to six months with traditional Botox - but Baby Botox is available at a much lower price than standard Botox, so there’s not much difference in terms of value for money.

In terms of potential side effects, mild bruising, headaches, and general flu-like symptoms are the norm for both types of Botox, although they are likely to occur on a smaller scale with Baby Botox.
